OptiPix Image Upscaler uses an AI super-resolution model to intelligently enlarge images while adding realistic detail that simple resizing cannot achieve. Traditional upscaling produces blurry results because it just interpolates between existing pixels, but our AI model understands image content and generates new, plausible details. The model runs entirely in your browser — no server uploads, no API calls, complete privacy. It downloads once (approximately 15 MB) and works offline afterward. Choose between 2x and 4x upscaling modes depending on how much enlargement you need. This is ideal for upscaling old photos, improving low-resolution screenshots, enlarging thumbnails for printing, or preparing images for high-DPI displays. The tool accepts JPEG, PNG, and WebP inputs and outputs high-quality PNG files. Processing time depends on image size and your device's GPU capabilities, with most images completing in a few seconds.

How It Works

The upscaler uses a lightweight super-resolution neural network (based on ESRGAN architecture) that runs in your browser via ONNX Runtime WebAssembly. The model analyzes the low-resolution input and generates high-frequency details that are perceptually convincing.
