OptiPix Photo Collage Maker lets you turn any group of photos into a polished collage without uploading them. Choose from 30+ grid templates organized by photo count (2 photos, 3 photos, 4 photos, all the way up to 10+), or switch to freestyle mode to drag, resize, and rotate images freely. Pre-built canvas sizes include Instagram post (1080×1080), Instagram story (1080×1920), Facebook cover, A4 portrait, A4 landscape, plus a custom mode. Per-image editing lets you replace, pan/zoom within the cell, apply quick filters, or remove. Spacing controls include gap between images, outer margin, individual borders, rounded corners, and drop shadows. You can also add text overlays with full font, color, and size controls - perfect for titles, dates, or event names. When you're done, export as JPEG, PNG, or WebP at 1× or 2× retina resolution. Because every step happens in your browser via the HTML Canvas API, your photos never leave your device - ideal for personal photo books, family albums, or anything you'd prefer to keep private.

How It Works

Each template is a JSON layout defining image cells as percentages of the canvas. The renderer draws each photo into its cell with cover-fit cropping, then applies spacing, borders, and rounded corners. Freestyle mode lets you drag images freely with snap guides for alignment.

What the Photo Collage Maker is good at - and what it isn't

A collage template is a layout, not a style: each cell is defined as a percentage of the canvas, so the same template works at any export size and every photo is cover-fitted into its cell rather than squashed to fit. That is the difference between a collage that looks designed and one that looks like a table with pictures in it.

The decision worth making deliberately is the export size, because collages are usually made for a specific destination - a square for a feed, a 9:16 for a story, something much larger for print. Pick that first and the cropping decisions make themselves.

There are templates for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 photos including masonry and golden-ratio layouts. Freestyle mode supports unlimited images.
Can I make a freestyle collage without a grid?
Yes. Use Freestyle mode to drag images anywhere on the canvas, and they overlap with your chosen layering order.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The collage is composed entirely on an HTML Canvas in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
Can I add text, stickers or emoji?
Yes. The text tool adds titles, dates, or event names. The Stickers panel adds emoji decorations (heart, star, party, etc.) you can resize and place anywhere.
Can I add a custom background image?
Yes. Pick the Image background, upload any photo, and it cover-fits behind your collage. There's also a Blur background mode that uses one of your collage photos blurred.
Can I crop and reposition images inside their cells?
Yes. Select an image and use the Pan X / Pan Y / Zoom sliders to reposition the image inside the cell.
What social media sizes are available?
One-click presets for Instagram Post, Instagram Story, Facebook Cover, Pinterest Pin, Twitter/X Header, A4, YouTube Thumbnail, and a custom size mode.
Can I export at retina resolution?
Yes. Toggle '2× retina export' to render at twice the canvas size for crisp printing or high-DPI displays.
