A scanner fed a page the wrong way round, or a phone scan came out in landscape, and every reader now shows it sideways. Rotating in a viewer only changes how that viewer displays it - send the file on and the recipient sees it sideways again, because the rotation was never written into the document. This writes it in. Turn pages 90, 180 or 270 degrees and the saved PDF opens the right way up everywhere, for everyone. The change is recorded as page metadata rather than by re-rendering anything, so the file is not degraded and text stays selectable - rotating is one of the few PDF operations that genuinely costs nothing. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded, and there is no limit on how many pages the document has.
How It Works
pdf-lib sets the rotation property on the pages you selected and saves a new document. Nothing is re-rendered, so the operation is lossless and instant regardless of page count. It runs entirely in your browser.
