About WebP to JPG Converter
Last updated: October 2026
WebP is what most websites now serve, so it is what you get when you save an image from one - and then discover that the program you wanted to use it in will not open it. Older versions of Photoshop, plenty of print workflows, a lot of document software and most upload forms still expect JPEG. This converter decodes WebP in your browser and re-encodes to JPEG with MozJPEG, locally, with no upload and no account. Transparency is worth knowing about: WebP supports an alpha channel and JPEG does not, so anything transparent has to become a solid colour. You choose which colour rather than having white forced on you, and the tool tells you when the image it is converting actually has transparency instead of letting you find out from the result. Drop in a whole folder if you need to - there is no batch limit and no file-size cap.
How It Works
The WebP is decoded in your browser, flattened onto your chosen background colour if it carries transparency, and re-encoded as JPEG with MozJPEG compiled to WebAssembly. Everything runs on your own CPU, so nothing is uploaded and there is no limit on how many files you convert.
Use Cases
- •Making a web-saved image usable in an older version of Photoshop or a print workflow
- •Preparing images for an upload form or CMS that only accepts JPEG
- •Converting a batch of downloaded WebP assets before handing them to a client
- •Flattening a transparent WebP onto a chosen background colour for a document
- •Getting a JPEG out of a screenshot or saved image for software that will not read WebP
