About Split PDF
Last updated: October 2026
Splitting covers more than one job, so there are five ways to do it. Individual pages turns a document into one PDF per page. Every N pages breaks a long file into fixed-size chunks. By range lets you type something like 1-3, 4-6 and get a document per range. Extract pulls out just the pages you name into a single new PDF - the one you want when somebody asks for "page 4 and the signature page". Remove does the inverse, deleting the pages you name and keeping the rest, which is how you strip a cover sheet or an internal annex before sending a document on. All five copy pages rather than re-rendering them, so text stays selectable and quality is unchanged. It runs in your browser, so the document is not uploaded, and there is no limit on page count or file size beyond your own memory.
How It Works
pdf-lib parses the document and copies the pages you selected into one or more new PDFs, depending on the mode. Nothing is re-rendered or recompressed, so text and quality survive intact. Everything runs in your browser.
Use Cases
- •Extracting the one page somebody actually asked for
- •Removing a cover sheet or internal annex before sending a document on
- •Breaking a long scan into chapter-sized files
- •Separating a batch scan into one PDF per document
- •Pulling the signed pages out of a returned contract
