About HEIC to JPG Converter
Last updated: October 2026
Every iPhone since iOS 11 saves photos as HEIC, and almost nothing else reads it. Upload one to a web form, attach it to a ticket, or open it on Windows and you get an error or a grey box - which is why converting to JPG is usually the first thing anyone does with an iPhone photo they need to send somewhere else. This converter decodes HEIC and HEIF in the browser and re-encodes to JPEG with MozJPEG, the same encoder the image compressor uses, so the output is smaller at equal quality than a plain browser re-encode. Your photos are not uploaded: the decode and the encode both run on your own CPU, which matters because camera-roll photos are the most personal files most people own and the usual alternative is handing them to a stranger's server. Drop in as many as you like - there is no per-file cap, no daily quota and no account - and set the quality slider to trade size against fidelity. The original HEIC files on your device are never modified; you get new JPGs to download, individually or all at once.
How It Works
The HEIC file is decoded in your browser to raw pixels, then re-encoded as JPEG using MozJPEG compiled to WebAssembly. Both steps run on your own CPU - the file is never uploaded. The quality slider controls the JPEG encoder directly, and re-converting at a different quality re-runs only the encode, so adjusting it is near-instant.
Use Cases
- •Converting iPhone photos so they can be attached to a web form that rejects HEIC
- •Preparing camera-roll images for a Windows PC or an older photo editor
- •Sending holiday photos to someone whose device cannot open HEIC
- •Batch-converting an entire album exported from Photos before archiving it
- •Getting a JPG out of an iPhone screenshot or photo for a support ticket or insurance claim
